CONSTRUCTION students from Deeside College embarked on an eight mile sponsored walk with a difference yesterday to raise funds for the college’s chosen charity the NSPCC – pushing two concrete mixers.

Walking the coastal pathway starting from Pensarn the 16 students walked to Rhos-on-Sea pushing two cement mixers which were kindly donated by Anwyl Construction..

The students, who study the Intermediate Construction Award in bricklaying, organised the event as part of their Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate qualification.

The group contacted Denbighshire Council to seek approval for the event, completed a health and safety risk assessment and created posters to raise awareness of the walk among fellow students and staff
